2 teenage girls, 4 cats, a quilter and a quiet morning?? Yep, it is not only possible, it actually happened. So here I sit, on the couch, merrily typing away. In peace, and quiet.I got up at 5:11a. I workout at 5:30a a few days a week, so this allows me just enough time to use the restroom, brush my teeth, put on my already-chosen outfit, grab my gear and go. I don’t want enough time to think… just to go. That way there is no talking myself out of it. By the time I mentally wake up, I’m already starting the workout.
I get home around 6:20, and EVERYONE is still asleep, even some of the cats. Being that school is out, the girls are staying up later and sleeping in later. And by the time my husband went to work I had already showered, picked radishes,
started watering the garden
and had my coffee and first breakfast. Not a bad start to a Tuesday.
Despite knowing I wanted AND needed to have a productive day today, I didn’t want to jump right into the noisy business and wake the girls up. The cats did get up, only to beg me to let them outside. So I did, and now they are sleeping in various places and positions around the house.
So I played a few games on my laptop, wrote on my other blog, and did some quiet work (ironing, yuck).
Then I thought, maybe I should really capitalize on this quiet thing, while it lasts. So here I am, with another cuppa joe, writing some more.
I guess when my coffee is gone I’ll get up and trim all this stuff. Then I need to string up a quilt back and get moving on quilting that project. But for now… I’ll just soak in the peace.
